Ivonne Barrientos

Ivonne joined us recently as our Bookkeeper and Human Resource person. Ivonne was born in Bolivia. In Lima, Peru, where her father worked for the Bolivian Embassy, she graduated as an Executive Bilingual Secretary from the American Institute. In 1980, she moved to Glendale, California with her husband Luis and their two children, Carla who is now 35, and Dennis who passed away at 29 in 2006. Ivonne attended Glendale College to brush up on her English and Accounting skills. In 1985, she graduated from Empire College in Santa Rosa, California in Business and Accounting while achieving the Dean’s Honor Roll. After graduation, Ivonne joined a non-profit organization as the Office Accounting Manager where she worked for 10 years. In 2002, she realized her biggest dream, she finally became a grandmother of a very handsome grandson, Anthony Jordan. Today she encourages young women to study and to have faith that the healing power of God will give us the strength to follow His direction and to bring peace as we continually are examples to others. She loves helping others.

Sandra Bell

Dr. Baehr’s Executive Assistant, Sandra has worked at MOVIEGUIDE® since March of 1995.  She is responsible for scheduling and coordinating radio interviews, meetings, conferences, seminars, and travel.  Sandra has a degree in Business and Economics from Jacksonville University and has done postgraduate work at the University of North Florida in Education.  She taught school and offered her skills as a volunteer to schools and hospital auxiliaries for over ten years.  Her husband, Terry, passed away in December of 2002.  She has a daughter and son-in-law.  Sandra resides northwest of Atlanta with her two Labrador retrievers, Caesar and Maggie, and attends church in Marietta.

Jeff Holder

Jeff works with Dr. Ted Baehr as Managing Editor of MOVIEGUIDE ®. He is a media veteran in the world of children’s and family programs. Jeff began as a writer on animated series like DENNIS THE MENACE, SCOOBY DOO and FLINTSTONE KIDS. He became Director of Children’s Programs at ABC Network. Later, he helmed the development department at Hanna-Barbera Studios. Jeff has also served as Vice President of Creative Affairs at Sony Wonder where he was Executive in Charge of Production on numerous Sesame Street productions. Stepping out of corporate in 2001, Jeff has served as Story Editor and Producer for a number of other faith based projects. Jeff has won an Angel Award, the Candlelight Award from Regent University and serves as a judge for UCLA’s screenwriting expo. With his wife Joan, he teaches Sunday School and together they produce an annual Christmas outreach event that attracts over 18,000 annually. Jeff and Joan live in Chatsworth, California with their four children and a pet.

 

 

 

Kendra Mathews

Kendra joined the MOVIEGUIDE® office in Camarillo in December as Administrative Assistant to Lili Baehr, and now also works as the Associate Editor of MOVIEGUIDE®, including helping with the production elements of the MOVIEGUIDE® TV show. She is a recent graduate from Corban College receiving a B.S. in English Communications and a minor in Music. Before MOVIEGUIDE®, she worked as the youth director at Court Street Christian Church in Salem, Oregon and as a speaker on Abstinence in the Salem/Keizer Public School District. During her free time, Kendra loves to write songs, play her guitar, read classic novels, hike, and rock climb.

Carolyn Napier

Carolyn recently joined the MOVIEGUIDE® office in Camarillo as Ted Baehr’s Executive Secretary.  She is a 3rd generation Los Angeles native, and has a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership with a minor in Religious Studies from Biola University.  After working in the banking industry for over ten years, and as an Operations Manager for many of those years, she knew she was being lead to a career change, and Movieguide was where she was directed.  She also works part time for Calvary Community Church Westlake Village, in Early Childhood Ministries.  When not at work, she enjoys horseback riding, water sports, reading, going to movies, watching her grandkids play sports (she has 21 so far), and spending time with her family.  She attends Living Oaks Community Church that was begun as a spin off from Calvary Church about four years ago.

Jo Ann Turbie

Jo Ann has been our administrative assistant since April, 2001. She is a native of Atlanta. She accepted the Lord at the age of eight and grew up in the Baptist Church. She has two sons and three grandchildren. She worked as an Executive Secretary for an oil company for 26 years. Jo Ann has done volunteer ministry through her church, in nursing homes and homes for abused mothers and children. She has been a member of Landmark Church since 1994. Since her husband passed away in 1996, Jo Ann devotes her time to family, church, and MOVIEGUIDE®.
