About Movieguide®:
Movieguide® is a non-profit ministry dedicated to redeeming the values of the entertainment industry according to biblical principles by influencing industry executives and by helping families to make wise media choices.
The organization was founded in 1985 by the Chairman of the Christian Film & Television Commission, Ted Baehr, Ph.D. A noted critic, educator, lecturer, and media pundit, Dr. Baehr is also the publisher of the magazine Movieguide®: A Family Guide to Movies and Entertainment. Released biweekly, Movieguide® offers in-depth analyses of current movies from a biblical perspective. Not only are issues of violence, sex and profanity directly addressed, but also the moral statements and worldviews of the films it reviews. Dr. Baehr also writes a syndicated column for 29 publications nationwide.
Movieguide® is more than just a magazine, it is also a TV show, radio show, and an Internet resource available around the world with broadcast, cablecast, and satellite-cast in more than 200 countries. The magazine and Internet versions of Movieguide® include news from the entertainment industry, insightful articles on trends and beliefs, and interviews with top filmmakers and actors such as Robert Duvall, Tom Hanks, Bruce Willis, Lindsay Lohan, and Steven Spielberg.

Media-wise Family:
Over the years, Dr. Baehr has created a variety of tools designed to help families use their skills of discernment when selecting their entertainment. Books written by Dr. Baehr such as Culture-Wise Family, What Can We Watch Tonight?, and The Christian Family Guide to Movies & Video Vol. I & II are just a few examples of the tools available to families who want to become more media-conscious. These tools not only help parents to have a better understanding of the media and its influence on their lives, but also give practical ways for them to combat the negative influence of entertainment in their children's lives. So You Want To Be In Pictures is another book written by Dr. Baehr to give Christians an in-depth look at the film industry and how they can become successful in it. Other available resources include the magazine Movieguide®: A Family Guide to Movies and Entertainment and the www.movieguide.org website which offers movie reviews, featured articles, books, tapes, and family-friendly movie merchandise.
